São Bernardo do Campo, or simply São Bernardo, is a Brazilian municipality in the state of São Paulo, in the Immediate Region of São Paulo. It belongs to the Southeast Zone of Greater São Paulo, in accordance with State Law No. 1,139 of June 16, 2011 and, consequently, with the Integrated Urban Development Plan of the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo (PDUI), and also to the unofficial region of Grande ABC.

The total area of the municipality is 409.532 km² and its population, according to the 2022 Census, is 810,729 inhabitants, which results in a population density of 2,075.2 inhabitants/km². The municipality consists of the seat and the district of Riacho Grande.

The origin of the city dates back to 1553, when the Village of Santo André da Borda do Campo was officially established, founded by the Portuguese João Ramalho together with his father-in-law Tibiriçá. The village was the first center of settlement in Brazilian territory outside the coast. The name of the municipality comes from the Fazenda de São Bernardo, founded by Benedictine monks in 1717, the origin of the modern occupation of the city.

According to 2021 data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the municipality of São Bernardo do Campo has the 16th largest gross domestic product (GDP) among Brazilian cities.
